3rd Summer School “Advanced Studies in Colloid and Interface Science”, July 09-11, 2022, St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria
From July 9 to July 11, 2022, the 3rd Summer School for Young Scientists was held in the framework of the international project EXTREME, coordinated by University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski” and funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Science and Education. The topic of the school was “Advanced Studies in Colloid and Interface Science”, and it was held at the Astor Garden Hotel, St. Constantine and Helena. resort, Varna, Bulgaria. Young scientists from the three partner organizations of the project, namely the University of Barcelona, Spain, ETH-Zurich, Switzerland and University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria attended the school. Lecturers at the school were Prof. Konstantin Neyman, University of Barcelona, Spain, Dr. Alessandro Lauria, ETH-Zurich, Switzerland, Prof. DSc Petar Petrov, Institute of Polymers, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria, Prof. Dr. Albena Lederer, Leibnitz Institute for Polymer Research, Dresden, Germany, etc.

2nd Summer School for Young Scientists
“Modelling, Simulation and Artificial Intelligence in Colloid and Interface Science”
On 22nd and 23rd of November, 2021, the 2nd school organized within the project EXTREME with topic “Modelling, Simulation and Artificial Intelligence in Colloid and Interface Science” took place as an online event in the platform Microsoft Teams (2nd Extreme school).
The school was organized for young scientists, PhD students and post docs from the three participating organizations, namely University of Barcelona, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich and University of Sofia and aimed at widening their knowledge in the field of modelling and simulations related to Colloid and Interface Science.

1st Summer School for Young Scientists
“Innovations and applied aspects of colloid and interface science”
The first summer school “Innovations and applied aspects of the science of colloid and interface science ” was held from 14 to 16 July, 2021 at St.St. Constantine and Helena resort, Varna, Bulgaria within the project “EXTREME”. The EXTREME project is coordinated by Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski ”and is funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria, within the National Program “ European Scientific Networks”. Partners of Sofia University“ St. Kliment Ohridski” in the project are the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Barcelona, Spain and the Department of Materials, ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
The school was attended by young scientists from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University and the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Barcelona.
The school was opened by the project coordinator Prof. Georgi Vaysilov from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski ”, who welcomed the participants.
Lecturers were well-known scientists from the partner organizations, as well as from Sofia University, namely: Prof. Lucio Isa, Dr. Robert Style, Dr. Alexandra V. Bayles from ETN Zurich, Dr. Albert Bruix, Prof. Jordi Cirera, Dr. Josep Puigmarti Luis from the University of Barcelona, Prof. Slavka Tcholakova and Prof. Irina Karadjova from Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski” and Prof. Yuri Kalvachev from the Institute of Catalysis, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Summer School “Innovations and Applied Aspects (Studies) of Colloid and Interface Science”, July 14-16, 2021, St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria
The first school “Innovations and Applied Aspects (Studies) of Colloid and Interface Science” will be organized in the period July 14-16, 2021 in St. Constantine and Helena resort, Varna, Bulgaria. The school will be attended by young scientists from Sofia University, and lecturers will be scientists from Sofia University as well as from the partner organizations. From ETH, Zurich – Prof. Lucio Isa, Dr. Robert Style and Alexander Bayles and from the University of Barcelona – Prof. Josep Puigmartí and Albert Bruix.
