online training on circular dichroism spectroscopy 

Within the frame of EXTREME project, an online training on circular dichroism spectroscopy will be organized on the topic “Fundamentals, examples and practice of circular dichroism spectroscopy”. The training will include a lecture with demonstrating the capabilities of the method by Prof. Raimundo Gargallo, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Barcelona, Spain.

The project EXTREME is a part of the European Scientific Networks National Programme funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Science and Education. In the project, Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski” has as partners University of Barcelona and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

The training will be held on May 3, 2023 at 3 p.m. (Sofia time) in the Microsoft Teams platform, and all who wish to participate can use the following link:

Pathfinder

Within the project EXTREME, an online lecture by Mrs. Alina Maria Tomoiaga, Project Officer at European Innovation Council, will be held devoted to the Pathfinder programme of the European Innovation Council. The lecture will provide an information about the main characteristics of the programme, the consortia and proposal requirements as well as an open discussion about the challenges and some common mistakes related to this specific call is envisaged.

Workshop “Colloid and interface research & innovations”

July 11-14, 2022, St.St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria

From 11th to 14 of July, 2022, the second workshop “Colloid and interface research & innovations” of the project EXTREME will take place at St.St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria. The EXTREME project is funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Bulgaria within the National Program “European Scientific Networks” and is coordinated by Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The plenary lecturers will be Prof. Lucio Isa, Department of Materials, ETH Zurich, Switzerland and Prof. Raimundo Gargallo, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Barcelona, Spain. In the Workshop will participate experienced as well as young researchers from the three partnering organizations, namely Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, ETH Zurich, Switzerland and University of Barcelona, Spain.

Summer School “Advanced Studies in Colloid and Interface Science”, July 09-11, 2022, St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria

From July 9 to July 11, 2022, the 3rd Summer School for Young Scientists will be held in the framework of the international project EXTREME, coordinated by University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski” and funded by the Bulgarian Ministry of Science and Education. The topic of the school is “Advanced Studies in Colloid and Interface Science”, and it will be held at the Astor Garden Hotel, St. Constantine and Helena. resort, Varna, Bulgaria. Young scientists from the three partner organizations of the project, namely the University of Barcelona, Spain, ETH-Zurich, Switzerland and University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria will attend the school. Online Lecture “Research dissemination pathways”, 22 Feb 2022

Within the project EXTREME an online lecture will be held entitled “Research dissemination pathways”, presented by Dr. Savina Kirilova, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski”. The lecture will cover information on methods for promoting and freely sharing scientific information, creating, verifying and correcting different scientific author profiles (ORCID, Publons, Scopus, Google Scholar), application and functions of academic social networks, registration and management of profiles in Academia.edu and ResearchGate, as well as measuring the popularity and importance of scientific publications through alternative metrics.

Online School “Modelling, Simulation and Artificial Intelligence in Colloid and Interface Science”, 22-23 November, 2021

The 2nd school organized within the project EXTREME with topic “Modelling, Simulation and Artificial Intelligence in Colloid and Interface Science” will take place as an online event on 22nd and 23rd of November, 2021.

The school is organized for young scientists, PhD students, post docs as well as for senior scientists from the three participating organizations, namely University of Barcelona, ETH Zurich and University of Sofia.

Summer School “Innovations and Applied Aspects (Studies) of Colloid and Interface Science”, July 14-16, 2021, St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria

The first school “Innovations and Applied Aspects (Studies) of Colloid and Interface Science” will be organized in the period July 14-16, 2021 in St. Constantine and Helena resort, Varna, Bulgaria. The school will be attended by young scientists from Sofia University, and lecturers will be scientists from Sofia University as well as from the partner organizations. From ETH, Zurich – Prof. Lucio Isa, Dr. Robert Style and Alexander Bayles and from the University of Barcelona – Prof. Josep Puigmartí and Albert Bruix.

Workshop “Colloid and interface research & innovations”, July 18-21, 2021, St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna, Bulgaria

The First Workshop “Colloid and interface research & innovations” within the ongoing EXTREME project, funded by the Ministry of Education and Science within the National Program “European Science Networks”, will be held from 18 to 21 July 2021 in St. . Constantine and Helena resort, Varna, Bulgaria. Scientists from the three partner organizations will take part in the workshop with oral presentations – Sofia University “St. Cl. Ohridski ”, Bulgaria, which is also the project coordinator, the Department of Materials Science, ETH, Zurich, Switzerland and the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Barcelona, ​​Spain.

An application for participation can be submitted by sending an abstract for an oral presentation to extreme@chem.uni-sofia.bg.
